This is my baby shawl that my Granny knitted for me when I was a baby. At the time, she was expecting twins, my uncle and aunt, who were due just a few days from me. They arrived 5 weeks early, and I arrived on their due date!
This shawl was also wrapped around my 3 siblings when they arrived in due course. Then my mother passed it onto me when I was expecting my first baby, nearly 22 years ago.
Since then, it has been lovingly wrapped around another 10 babies, so it has been "worn" by 15 babies so far!
Granny knitted a shawl for each of her children as they produced their first child, so there are 10 of these shawls. Each one a little different to the others, but all loved as they were made with love.
I am just learning to knit, I doubt I could produce something so fine in my lifetime.
My Granny is a legend!
